Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao To Visit Pakistan On December

President Asif Ali Zardari and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao pledged Friday to strengthen Sino-Pak ties deeply rooted aspects of strategic relations through enhanced cooperation in various fields.

The two leaders met here on the fringes of the 16th Asian Games hosted by China, had a level of delegation and later a half-hour face-to-head with a frank exchange of views on various issues of common interest including bilateral relations, situation in the region and issues of international importance.

Chinese Premier Wen said the visit to Pakistan in December "to deepen strategic cooperation," and proposed a formal and structured mechanism for dialogue at ministerial level.

President Zardari was pleased with the prime minister said the Chinese government and people of Pakistan expect the visit. He said to come to China to return home.

At the meeting, held in a cordial atmosphere, there was unanimity of views on various issues of regional and international importance, with special reference to peace and stability in the region.

The Chinese premier said Pakistan's role has been played in the fight against terrorists and increased cooperation between the two countries will be better able to fight against terrorism.

The two leaders also expressed their firm determination to further strengthen their bilateral relations in economic, defense and energy.

President Zardari said that bilateral trade between the countries had risen to about $ 7 billion, while $ 2 billion in 2002, was still far from the business opportunities for both countries.

President Zardari said that mega projects like Gwadar, KKH, HMC and Neelum Jhelum Hydro-Plant, shining symbol of their friendship.

Briefing journalists spokesman Farhatullah Babar said President Asif Ali Zardari has called a currency swap with China, and taking full advantage of free trade to bilateral trade between the two countries' 15 billion dollars short.
