Indian tennis star Sania Mirza has devoted his opening speech of the Asian Games victory for her husband and former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik.
Mirza, whose ranking dropped to 166, after a series of injuries, needed just under an hour to win a victory of 6-1, 6-0 win against Yau Hong Kong, Chan Wing.
"I didn''t feel good in the past two weeks," said 24-year-old, who won a gold medal and two silver medals at Asian Games Doha 2006.
"I was absent from the team event, but now I feel much better ... My husband came here today, which made me very confident and I felt good," he said.
Mirza discussed with Chinese sixth seed, Zhang Shuai, who needed only 33 minutes to defeat Nepal Malika Rana in a change of shame.
"Sania has a very strong opponent, and we honor," said Zhang, the world's 91, who previously defeated Mirza Guangzhou is open in the same center court tennis Aoti this season.
